Follow me on Twitter

>> Tuesday, March 31, 2009

While thinking about what topic I want to share, I found something good, lol. While visiting some blogger pages, I always noticed that they have on their right or left side of the page the title link "Follow Me". I'm not new to the word follow me on Twitter because I've always read about it or heard about it on the radio and TV news. Many times I wanted to join, but I didn't because I thought it was hard to join but I was wrong because today when I opened twitter.com, I found out it's easy to do with only a short form to fill in. Now finally I have an account with them and I have my twitter button in the right side of my page. So to those who would like to follow me on Twitter, I am ready to follow you too, lol. See you there guys...

Season Finale of Mark and Olly With Machigenga

>> Sunday, March 29, 2009

So many times I have shared about our favorite shows on TV, one of those is the show on travel channel 56. I shared about Mark and Olly with the Machigenga tribe. This show is really our favorite due to the fact that we can learn about Machigenga way of living and beliefs and also how Mark and Olly live with them for a few months dealing with Machigenga's life.

Tonight I decided to share this topic again because a few days ago while I was checking my email, I received an email from a representative of the Travel Channel reminding me that the Season fanale of Mark and Olly airs this Sunday at 10:00 pm. I was happy because they said that they read my post days ago regarding my favorite show which is Mark and Olly with the Machigenga. Also they sent me a link of videos which is a preview of the episode to view or embed. Also a Mark and Olly Video Podcast page. It is nice to know that they read my simple post. To all who visit my blog, read and left comments, Thanks A Lot.....

Spring Time

>> Saturday, March 28, 2009

I thought the sun would continued to shine, but I was wrong. I woke up in the morning with a dark sky due the clouds. In the afternoon around 3 PM, I noticed the sunshine coming through the window but after an hour or so, it was suddenly dark again and the sky has dark clouds. We are in the spring season so we expect this kind of weather that has dark clouds with rain which helps the trees and flowers grow. I do love it though, because spring is here and finally we're done with a cold winter. Since spring started I saw more birds in our trees which are starting to bud and I expect they will have green leaves soon. Anyway our Friday here is so great as usual, how about you? Well, have a great Friday to all!!!

A nice day and sleepy

>> Thursday, March 26, 2009

What a nice and sleepy day!!! Yes we have a nice day even though I couldn't see any sunshine due to cloudy skies and some rain. I said sleepy, because I am, lol. My little boy woke up so early in the morning and of course his mother as well. He really made me wake up early in the morning, even though my eyes and mind wanted to sleep. He was talking and playing and I couldn't understand what he was saying so I just ignored him until he grabbed my hair and said mama and something else that I couldn't understand. So I decided to get up from bed and I brought him in the living room. I directly prepared his food and let him watch cartoons on TV. He was happy while watching the cartoons and I gave him his breakfast as well. A few hours after he ate, he asked to go back to sleep and I was happy because I thought I could sleep too but my mind won't let me even though my eyes are so tired and felt sleepy. So I tried to make my eyes tired in front of the computer while my little boy is sleeping but I still couldn't sleep. I can't understand my eyes are tired but I can't sleep. Honestly the weather here makes me sleepy.

Historic, Unique and Boutique Hotels

>> Sunday, March 22, 2009

Last night a friend of mine who lives in Chicago told me she is planning to travel with her husband to Hawaii for their 2nd Anniversary this coming month. She is really happy and excited in fact she already reserved a hotel for them to stay in while they are there. She told me if we plan to travel and want to stay in an upscale hotel, we should visit choicehotels.com because they really have some nice hotels to stay in at some of the most popular cities. I was curious so I visited their site and discovered the Ascend Collection which is a network of historic, unique and boutique hotels that gives you a local and real experience. I'm happy she shared this site with me and I hope they have a nice vacation this coming month.

Hemoglobin test

>> Thursday, March 19, 2009

A few weeks ago we went to my little boy's doctor so he could get his one year old check up schedule. That time we knew that he would get a few shots for his immunization and yes he got 4 shots in his legs. The doctor said that he might get a fever after the shots were done and luckily he didn't. Before we left, the doctor handed us a recommendation paper to go to the hospital where my little boy was born for hemoglobin test. Due to no schedule to go there, it's our choice to go when we wanted to. My husband and I decided to go there a few days ago. The night before we went to the hospital I was thinking and worrying about how they would take blood from my little boy for the said test. As far as I know they stick a needle in the arm and I know it really hurts. The day we went there I wasn't wrong, the nurse brought the same things out and did the same procedure as they use for an adult. I was really worried because when the nurse started to hold my little boy's tiny arms, he started to cry terribly. First they poked the needle in my little boy's left tiny arm and it didn't work, so the other nurse tried it in his right tiny arm and finally it worked and they took 2 tubes of blood from it. Now we are waiting the results of the test and I hope everything is OK. Also until now his tiny arms still have the mark of the needles and dark bruises, but at least he is done with it now.

Health Care Jobs

>> Tuesday, March 17, 2009

In this economic downturn, it is so challenging to find the right job opportunity. I've seen on the TV news long lines of people applying for a few jobs that are available . At the end only a few who are qualified get the open jobs. Now there are some sites who can help job seekers find jobs in the health field. The best site for those who are looking for a health care job is heathcarejobsite.com. They focus solely on helping the members develop careers in health care. Members can access their Job Seeker Career Center to post a resume and search for healthcare jobs online. I'm telling my friend about this site because she wants a health care job and I know this site can help her.

Nice weekend

Saturday! Saturday! Saturday. Well, it's the weekend once again and we are all at home. We have a nice weekend though and wish it's not cold outside on this sunny weekend so that we could walk or bike in the woods or in the bike ways. Just a few more weeks til spring and I know I'm not the only one who is longing for it. It is really starting to feel a little like spring time especially the sun sets later. I remembered when I newly arrived here in USA, thinking about why the sun set so late, through of my curiosity, I asked my husband, why does the sun still shine at night time? Being innocent, I was asking him like a kid, lol. In the Philippines, the sun sets at 5 or 6 pm all year long. Anyway, have a nice weekend to all!!!

Since before I got pregnant with my little boy, I have been interested in watching Health shows on TV and surfing the Internet regarding babies health. Nipa hut house

>> Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Many times my husband and I shared our thoughts about the time when we move to the Philippines and of course our future house there. We are planning to build a house when we get there, but where we live while the house is being built is one of the things we've considered. First we thought about renting a house or apartment to live in while waiting for the house to be finished, so we did some research on the cost to rent a house. We discovered that it is a little expensive to rent there, so we thought about another option which is we could build a native house or a nipa hut house for us to live temporarily because it would be inexpensive to build.  We both like it this idea better rather than spend money without anything to show for it afterwards. Hope we don't change our mind because I'd love to have a nipa hut house on our property.

Not Feeling OK

>> Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Today is a nice day with nice sunshine here after 2 days of cloudy skies and rain but it's been 2 days now that I'm not feeling OK. Yesterday I felt dizziness every time I bent over. I thought that was only from a lack of sleep from the other day. Today it's getting worse, I have heartburn with an upset stomach which caused me to throw up. I had this problem when I was in the Philippines and I never took any medicine for it but today my husband gave me Mylanta to help me feel better. After I took the Mylanta, I had some chicken soup and my stomach felt a little better. Now, I am OK and thanks God. I hope it won't come back again.

Nice morning

It is a nice morning for me here, why? Because I woke up early, lol. Honestly it is unusual for me to wake up early because we always  stay up late at night. My little boy still has a problem sleeping at night. He can't sleep early. Last night he sleeps 30 minutes earlier than his usual sleeping time and then this morning he woke up so early and after a few hours he went back sleep again. So I put him back in the bed and I tried to go back to sleep too but I couldn't and my eyes are so awake, so I decided to go back in the living room and turn on the computer. So I'm early in front of the computer and doing some work. Well, it's near 10 AM here now and it's a nice morning to me so I share it with you guys. Have a nice morning to all!!!!!

Personalized baby gifts

When I was 8 months pregnant with my son, our family here held a baby shower. I was overwhelmed at the time, but it really was a great experience with the love of family and friends around me. We received an assortment of gifts for my son. Some of the gifts were personalized baby gifts which we still use. A personalized baby gift is really a great gift for you to give because it is unique and memorable. One of the best gifts is a customized embroidery where you can put the name of the baby in great gifts like a blanket, an infant snap bib, a sweatshirt and many others. I know of a site called threadsmith.com where you can design your own custom embroidered products. All you have to do is visit their site and create your unique and memorable personalized baby gifts.

Playing with our little boy

It's almost 10 PM here and we are still all awake. While my little boy is playing with his dad, I'm taking this opportunity in front of the computer. It is really hard for me to leave him playing alone because he can walk now and there are times he hurts himself by falling down when he walks too fast. Maybe he is trying to walk like us but because he is not strong enough, he falls sometimes. Now it is so scattered in the living room with his toys and every night before we go to bed his dad picks up all the toys and cleans the mess in the living room. At this time we need to have more patience and enjoy playing with our little boy.

Thinking about our house

>> Sunday, March 1, 2009

At this moment, I'm just thinking about our house here. Since my husband decided to put our house up for sale, he did so many things to make it easier to sell. Last year he started to replace the tile on the kitchen floor, fix the walls in the bathroom, installed a new bathtub and put new tiles on the bathroom floor. After finishing downstairs, he decided to finish the attic upstairs to add a 3rd bedroom. He finished the walls but still needs to install carpet before it's finished. Luckily few months ago he can get a good deal on carpet from the auto show and all carpet he bought is still like new. Now that we have the carpet and ready to install on the floor, he said he will lay the carpet himself to save money, but he has no tools at home so he bought some used tools on ebay. He already received two tools but is waiting for one more tool to complete the carpet installation. He said to me, this way we can save some money and I agree with him, but I know it is hard to do especially when the carpet is so heavy. Well, that's his choice so I abide by his decision and I probably can help him to carry the carpet....I hope every thing he started in the house will be finished and we'll have a buyer for it soon...Hope and Pray!!!!
