Dark circles around the eyes

My mother is already 68 years old and like most people her age has wrinkles on her face. She is luckily that she doesn't have dark circles around her eyes. I am talking about dark circles around the eyes because one of her friends was visiting us a few days ago and shared her problem about how she wants to get rid of the dark circles around her eyes. She was just wondering why my mother hasn't any while she has had the dark circles for years now and she is much younger than my mother. Well my mother smiled and said "I guess I'm just lucky". No nap

How can my little boy not feel sleepy at this time? It's almost 10:40 at night here and he is still playing. As I've shared in one of my posts before, my little boy has a problem taking his nap every afternoon since we put a swing set in our yard and yes today he had no nap and he is still awake at this time. I have no idea where he gets his energy, maybe it's one of the toddler stages of development. As a mother I worry about it though, especially when I'm use to him having a nap every afternoon.

Hours of sleep

Luckily my son had his nap today! Yes that's the words I thought since we have a swing set in the yard. I am so happy that my little boy had hours of sleeps this afternoon. Ever since we got our swing set in the yard he would only sleep an hour or less in the afternoon. Sometimes he would try to argue with me and try not to sleep, saying, " I want to play outside". Now he is having a good nap and it's already 4 PM here.

Some hearing loss

I often complained to my husband that he wasn't listening to me when I would say something to him because he would answer me with "what did you say?". But after going to an ear doctor and getting a hearing test done with an audiometer, we discovered he has some hearing loss in his right ear. So now I can understand why he asks me to repeat what I say sometimes. The doctor told him he could get a hearing aid if he wanted but my husband said he can still hear good with his right ear so no need.

I love flowers

I love flowers, that's why I'm sharing it with you now, lol. Even my blog header has flowers too, right? Well flowers came to my mind when I was looking at photos on my laptop and I saw a photo of my orchids which I took a week ago. I bought a couple of orchids so I could replant them in a dead branch of a tree. Now I'm happy because they are showing us nice flowers. Aside from that there are other flowers ready to bloom on the other orchids. I will have to wait probably a week or so for the flowers to totally bloom.

Likes to play basketball

I came from a big family. I have 5 brothers and 1 sister including myself makes 7 of us. Three of my brothers likes to play basketball especially our youngest brother. Since he is our youngest bro he is spoiled and always asked for what he wants. Like recently he asked me for a pair of shoes. We were planning to give him a necklace for his birthday but now we will probably change our mind and buy him what he wants which is a pair of Nike 6.0 shoes. Well, I have no idea what they look like or if they are durable or not, but Nike is a well known brand so they are probably good shoes. Today I looked for a store online and luckily I found a site which I can shop for them, once I'm ready to shop.

Take some photos

Since my little boy was having his nap I directly went to the yard to take some photos of the new front porch railings and swings we just had installed which I shared about here a few days ago. I took these photos to share since my little boy is giving me time to do this. It's hard for me to hold a camera with him near by because he tries to take it from me and take pictures of anything by himself. That's the reason it's hard for us to take some photos of him also.

I am gaining weight

I'm on the 5Th month of my pregnancy and I am gaining weight. On my 1st trimester my weight was stable at 110 lbs. until my last visit to my doctor I gained a few pounds. Being pregnant, I'm not worried about gaining weight. I know it will be hard to lose weight after I have the baby but nursing my baby will help me lose some weight because I experienced that before with my first baby. Like my cousin who didn't nurse her baby, it is difficult for her to lose weight now. I tried to tell her that she could find the best diet pills online at a site that reviews diet pills but she wouldn't follow my advice, she just bought some diet pills at the pharmacy which didn't help her lose any weight. A new toy

Our little boy has a new toy which arrived 2 days ago. The new toy I mention is a swing set which we ordered last week with the railings on our porch. We got a good deal on the two orders from a local welder who does custom metal work and the railings and swings came out great. Now our little boy is so happy and can enjoy playing on the swings anytime at home. Us adults can enjoy the swings as well because they are well made and they can hold a lot of weight.

Kitchen Knives

One of the most important kitchen utensils is a knife. Yes, I am talking about this now because our dull kitchen knives irritate me every time I use them. It is getting harder and harder for me to cut vegetables and meat every day. I have no idea what kind a kitchen knife will stay sharp longer. I chose the knives I'm using now and I told my husband to select good kitchen knives next time we go shopping. He said, "I hope they have ginsu knives in the store". The Ginsu knives are the kitchen knives we used when we were in the USA. Yes, I remember that they were really good to use. Well, I hope we can find them here or else we can try to find Ginsu knives in an online store.

Immunization

My 3 year old little boy had an appointment yesterday with his doctor for his typhoid immunization. That was his 3rd immunization since we arrived here in the Philippines. It was hard for him because he forgot everything about needle pains when he was a baby and now he is a toddler. When he had his first poke of the needle for his first immunize here 2 months ago, he really cried when the needle was stuck in his arm. I thought that would be the last time he would want to see the doctor, but I was wrong because he is still OK with it. I am happy because he hasn't given us a hard time bringing him to see the doctor for immunization especially when he still has still 2 more immunizations to come.

High medical bills

When I found out I am expecting our second child in July, I started to worry that we would have high medical bills to pay when our new child comes into the world. But my husband assured me that we are still covered by Blue Cross and all we have to do is pay the bill first and then apply to get reimbursed by BCBS afterward. For me it is a great relief knowing that we will not have suffer any financial hardship trying to pay for high medical bills. Now I realize how important it is for a growing family to have health insurance.

My nephew's birthday

While sitting here I'm thinking about what do we give to my nephew for his birthday today. Well, let's see what our decision will be because we are invited to have dinner at his house tonight. Since we don't have an idea about what he wants or needs we'll probably just give him money and let him buy something. I think money is the best gift for him since he is a teenager and I know for sure he has lots of things to buy that he likes. Hopefully he enjoys his birthday with his classmates and friends because I know they will come over his house to celebrate with him and of course I know he'll enjoy celebrating with us as well.

Wish I could exercise

Wish I could exercise using either the bicycle or the tread mill shown in the photo at the left. My husband bought them separately. He bought the bicycle a couple of months after we arrived here in the Philippines and just used it a few times after he bought it. A few months ago he decided to buy a treadmill to use inside the house. Now he can exercise either rain or shine and whenever he feels like using it. I am happy because he can get some exercise now. Wish I could use the tread mill now but I'm afraid of my big belly. Well, walking with my little boy in the yard is a substitute though.

A great day for me in front of the PC

What a great day for me in front of the PC! Since I got pregnant I think this is the longest time I've been able to work in front of the PC on my blog. I hope I'll continue to be OK after this though,lol. I do really miss doing things in my blog especially posting, EC dropping and visiting other sites or blogs. Hopefully I'm really OK now. Just now I realized I can stay quite long time in front of the PC, lol. I really hope I'm finally OK.

Nice sunlight to dry our wet clothes

The weather here can be unpredictable even though summer has started. Two nights ago it rained after we had nice skies during the daytime. Today I was so happy when I woke up in the morning because there was nice sunlight to dry our wet clothes which were washed and ready to hang on the clotheslines. Yes we did hang them up until after lunchtime the sky suddenly had dark clouds with some showers of rain. I directly went to the clotheslines and gathered all of the clothes especially our really thick bath towels that needed to dry up more. Yes, our towels are really thick and durable because they are Chase by Sferra which are all from the USA. My husband used them for a long time until he shared them with me when I arrived in the USA. Now that we are here living in the Philippines, we still continue to use them.

My doctor's visit

I finally had my doctor's visit yesterday for my check up after I shared in the last few posts that it was postponed till next week. The day of the appointment I called the doctor's office and they said it's OK but the schedule was earlier than the usual time, so we decided to continue with the first schedule which was yesterday and the check up turned out great. My weight is getting higher and we heard the heartbeat of my Angel. Also on my next visit hopefully my Angel cooperate to let us know what gender she/he be. I'll take another ultrasound for that.

A doctor appointment

I had a doctor appointment this week but it was changed to next week instead. It's quite OK though because we have a bank appointment in the same week. That way we can do 2 things in the city on the same trip so that we can save time and gasoline because it's a 2 hour drive one-way to the city. Even though I am so anxious to hear the baby's heartbeat from tummy again, I guess I can wait one more week. I'm also waiting anxiously to know the sexuality of my Angel as well. I'll just have to wait for my doctor to give me a schedule for that.
